Here are some toys which are not gender specific in the way they are designed or marketed and there is no pink or blue insight! Just colourful toys designed for kids with big imaginations.
1/ For little ones who want to copy their mummies or daddies in the kitchen. A baby walker with a difference and it is not pink or aimed at girls. The ELC wooden Activity Kitchen Walker
2/ Every child loves pretend play and tea sets are perfect for tea parties with their favourite toy friends even dinosaurs like to come for tea ! This Retro Style Tin Tea Set by Berylune on Not on the High Street is quite expensive but it’s such a cute design and looks very good quality so would last them all their childhood.
3/ For an outdoor tea party Jojo Mama Bebe have a Picnic Basket with Wooden Food. Complete with a traditional red and white picnic rug and wicker basket. I love the little flask!
4/ Another great wooden toy, by a company called Janod is this Circus Train set, its colourful and fun, something a bit different to the regular train sets you usually find in the shops. Isaacs first walker was by Janod it is great quality and a simple design, he still plays with it now.
5/ Following the pretend play theme, Ikea do a sweet little dolls house which is a very basic design and looks great in a modern bedroom. Their dolls furniture is miniature versions of Ikea products. I really want to get this for Isaac’s bedroom! Not sure daddy will approve…
6/ The last set of toys I came across by accident and was so pleased to see them. The DC super hero dolls by Argos are aimed at girls but I can’t see why boys can’t play with them too, it’s a shame they don’t do the male DC superheroes in the same style, so there is a complete collection but it’s nice to see female superhero characters for once. There is loads of different characters, my favourites are Wonder Woman and Harley Quinn. They are reasonably priced too!
It’s nice to see some toys out there which are designed and marketed for all kids, and also good quality toys, as there is a lot of cheaply made products out there which cost a small fortune and break within a few minutes. I personally love wooden toys as they last and always look great too. Try and look online to get a better selection of toys, there are great toys being made out there which are not genderised by colour or style. Let kids play with all types of toys, let them just be kids!
